Coach Spotlight: Domenika Turković – Where Elite Coaching Meets Passion and Purpose in Pickleball

Published on 06/08/2025 by Nick

If you’ve been paying attention to the surge in professional pickleball, you’ve likely heard the name Domenika Turković—not just for her medal-winning play, but for her growing impact as a certified professional coach leading players of all ages, identities, and skill levels toward their full potential.

Originally from Croatia, Domenika transitioned from a successful tennis career (Croatia’s #1 junior and NCAA Division I athlete) into pickleball with the same intensity and heart she brought to the tennis court. And now, she’s making a name for herself not only on the pro tour—but more importantly, on the coaching court.

The Power of Coaching with Intention

With PPR Professional Certification and PCI Level 1 Certification, Domenika brings a strong technical foundation to her sessions. Her style blends modern, engaging instruction with mindset work, helping players not only get better—but feel better, both physically and mentally.

Whether she’s working with beginners or competitive players, her philosophy remains grounded in three key values:

“Have fun. Keep moving. Improve physically and mentally.”

It’s a simple message, but one that resonates across the many communities she serves.

Coaching Communities That Matter
Domenika’s coaching journey is rooted in connection—meeting players where they are, and building them up.

  • At Mission Hills Country Club, home of the PPA Masters, she served as Head Pickleball Coach, introducing hundreds of members to high-level fundamentals in a luxury setting.
  • With Olivia Travel, the largest LGBTQ+ travel company for women, she’s coached inclusive, small-group camps in destinations like Tulum, creating safe, fun, and competitive learning environments.
  • Partnering with the APP Tour and AARP, she’s brought the game to older adults through clinics designed to make pickleball more accessible to everyone, regardless of age or experience.

These experiences highlight what makes Domenika stand out: her ability to adapt, to connect, and to teach in a way that builds confidence as much as technique.

From Coach to Competitor—and Back Again

To deepen her knowledge and credibility, Domenika entered the professional circuit—and quickly proved herself. In the past year, she’s taken home silver and bronze medals in pro women’s singles at APP Tour events in Columbus and Sacramento, respectively.

Her on-court achievements fuel her off-court coaching. As she says:

“Competing gives me insight into the nerves, the strategy, the grind—so when I coach, I’m not just teaching technique, I’m teaching the whole experience.”

Looking Ahead: Growth, Giving Back, and Going Global

Domenika continues to coach, travel, and train full-time. Based now in Florida, she’s launching new coaching programs, hosting clinics, and expanding into international events. In June, she returned to her hometown of Zagreb to host a charitable pickleball clinic benefiting children battling cancer—a reflection of her belief that sport should serve something bigger than just medals.
